Summary
  1. Serve as the primary advocate for the chapter's 2010 Strategic Goal: "to strengthen the Volunteer base."
  2. Recruitment of volunteers, including:
    1. Providing volunteer recruitment information for New Member packets, in coordination with the Director of Membership
    2. Posting Volunteer Openings, and corresponding Announcements, on the PMI CIC website, supported by the Director of IT
    3. Ensuring Volunteer Committee representation at all Monthly Program Meetings to:
      1. Announce volunteer openings
      2. Recruit volunteers through general discussion and networking
      3. Participate in New Member Orientation stand-up meetings, encouraging volunteerism
  3. Matching volunteers with volunteer positions, including:
    1. Vacant leadership positions, in collaboration with the Board of Directors
    2. Vacant volunteer positions within other Directors' committees
    3. Vacant volunteer positions within the Volunteers Committee
    4. A pool of volunteers who have no specific assignments but are willing to accept ad-hoc assignments, such as an event registration table or a PDD room monitor
  4. Owning and maintaining the chapter Volunteers database, including:
    1. Contact information
    2. Specific interests
    3. Time commitments
  5. Serve as the Human Resource Manager of volunteers, including:
    1. Development, maintenance, and distribution of New Volunteer packets
    2. Development of volunteer position descriptions, in collaboration with the appropriate Directors
    3. Identifying specific training or mentoring that would enable individual volunteers to be successful in their volunteer roles
  6. Manage the ongoing measurement of Volunteer Effectiveness, including:
    1. Initiating periodic surveys to all volunteers, supported by the Director of Correspondence:
      1. Regarding their own perception of their effectiveness
      2. Regarding their perception of other volunteers (non-leadership) with whom they have worked
      3. Regarding their perception of the effectiveness of chapter leadership (Directors and Officers)
    2. Maintaining a database of survey results for use in trending analysis
    3. Providing results and analysis to the Board of Directors
  7. Manage the ongoing measurement of Volunteer Satisfaction, including:
    1. Initiating periodic surveys to all volunteers, supported by the Director of Correspondence:
    2. Maintaining a database of survey results for use in trending analysis
    3. Using results to initiate appropriate changes in the recruitment and/or utilization of volunteers in the chapter
  8. Manage a Volunteers Committee, including:
    1. Assigning work to volunteers
    2. Managing work assignments and results
    3. Holding monthly meetings or comparable monthly communications to ensure activity progress
    4. Maintaining an accurate Committee Directory
    5. Managing the user listing and content of the appropriate Committee portal(s) on the pmicic.org website
  9. Manage administration activities, including:
    1. Providing a monthly status report to the supervising Vice President
    2. Managing compliance with chapter policies.  This includes, but is not limited to:
      1. Committee charter and project charters
      2. Conflict of Interest Forms and Non-Disclosure Agreements
      3. Budget requests, expense reporting, and other financial procedures
 
Skills Requested
Previous experience as chapter volunteer preferred
