Outreach
The Outreach Committee is committed to fostering understanding of the project management discipline in the Central Indiana community. More specifically, following is the vision of the Outreach Committee:
- Corporate Outreach: To understand the project management needs of corporations and to seek how the chapter can address those needs.
- Community Outreach: To foster public awareness of the discipline of project management and of the existence and significance of the PMI Central Indiana Chapter.
- Academic Outreach: To understand the needs of Central Indiana educational institutions and to address how PMI can be utilized to expand awareness and educate students on project management.
- Professional Organization Outreach: To understand synergies with other area professional organizations and build partnerships to advance project management.
Joining the PMI CIC Outreach Committee provides a member with opportunities to do the following:
- Contribute to the growth of project management knowledge and recognition in the professional and academic communities.
- Manage projects to design, plan, coordinate, and execute outreach events.
- Assume leadership roles and responsibilities in an important area of the chapter.
- Raise visibility and name-recognition before running for the Board of Directors.
- Earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward renewing PMP certification.
