About the position

Job Summary Works with PMO staff to maintain MS Project Server, Sharepoint, and TrackRecord. Builds specific reports and develops tools for the PMO and Project Managers. Troubleshoots issues and documents processes for systems and tools used in the PMO. Reports directly to the Manager, Project Management Office from whom overall work direction is received.
 
Responsibilities 1. Maintains MS Project Server and Sharepoint for Projects with the guidance of Project Management Advisor. Extracts of data, builds macros to automate processes, evaluates and tests new releases fixes problem, implements new releases and fixes, migrates production data to test environments, etc.

2. Maintains TrackRecord and any other software supported by the PMO with the guidance of Project Management Advisor. Schedules rebuilds of TrackRecord, backs up and restores of data, extracts data to other software, evaluates new releases and new software, implements new releases and fixes, enhances screens, etc.

3. Designs and builds reports and other tools for the PMO and user community. Analyzes user needs, selects appropriate reporting software and thoroughly tests and validates reports and tools.

4. Updates the resource pool based on Service Ticket requests and HR reports. Works with other departments to adjust availability of resources as requested.

5. Troubleshoots software problems with department software and resolves problems. Contacts vendor as needed.

6. Documents routine processes for PMO and users. Publishes user documentation. Stores PMO documentation in secured location.

7. Documents all standard maintenance processes. Trains other department staff on these documented processes.

8. Trains new users on TrackRecord, PWA and Sharepoint. Develops training materials and documentation for end users. Assists with Project Pro training by creating a training environment and conducting some of the training.

9. Communicates with department on problems, changes and general questions. Communicates with other departments and with users regarding problems and general questions.


 
Qualifications 1. Requires a minimum of an associates degree or equivalent in related area with a bachelors degree preferred. Requires a minimum of 2 years related experience.

2. Requires at least one year of experience maintaining server application, experience with SQL server, SQL and MS Office products including Access. Must learn MS Project Server, Sharepoint, TrackRecord and Business Objects.

3. Requires strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and develop additional tools for Project Managers.

4. Requires good oral and written communication skills

5. Must be proactive, reliable and accountable.

6. Must be able to use computer systems for essential job functions.
