About the position
Title PMO Systems Administrator
 
Location Indianapolis, IN
 
Job Summary Maintains MS Project Server, Sharepoint, and TrackRecord for the PMO. Works closely with other IT staff to ensure proper backups and restores occur for PMO systems and tools. Builds and runs specific reports for the PMO and Project Managers. Troubleshoots issues and documents processes for systems and tools used in the PMO. Reports directly to the Manager, Project Management Office from whom overall work direction is received.
 
Responsibilities Maintains MS Project Server and Sharepoint for Projects. Works with DBAs for backup and restore, extracts of data, building macros to automate processes, evaluation and testing of new releases and problem fixes, implementation of new releases and fixes, migration of production data to test environments, etc.

Maintains TrackRecord and any other software supported by the PMO. Schedules rebuilds of TrackRecord, backup and restore of data, extracts of data to other software, evaluation of new releases, implementation of new releases and fixes, enhancements to screens, etc.

Designs and builds reports and other tools for the PMO and user community. Analyzes user needs, selects appropriate reporting software and thoroughly tests and validates reports and tools.

Updates the resource pool based on Service Ticket requests and HR reports. Works with other departments to adjust availability of resources as requested.

Troubleshoots software problems with department software and resolves problems. Contacts vendor as needed.

Documents routine processes for PMO and users. Publishes user documentation. Stores PMO documentation in secured location.

Documents all standard maintenance processes. Trains other department staff on these documented processes.

Trains new users on TrackRecord. Develops training materials and documentation for end users. Assists with Project training by creating a training environment and conducting some of the training.

Communicates with department on problems, changes and general questions. Communicates with other departments and with users regarding problems and general questions.


 
Qualifications Requires a minimum of an associates degree or equivalent in related area with a bachelors degree preferred. Requires a minimum of 5-7 years related experience.

Requires at least one year of experience supporting MS Project Server, SQL server and Sharepoint. Some knowledge of Business Objects.

Requires some project management experience to understand how the MS Project is used.

Requires strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and develop additional tools for Project Managers.

Requires good oral and written communication skills

Must be proactive, reliable and accountable.
